Samsung has officially rolled out the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware called as XXDMDG6 for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 users which i s the 3G version of the device. For users who cant wait for the release to reach them, they can with the help of this guide manually install the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 XXDMG6 version of firmware on their Galaxy Tab 2 3G model.

This guide will help users to manually install the Android 4.2.2 JB XXDMG6 version on 3G version of Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 which is rooted.   1. First download the XXDMG6 zip file from HERE and save the extracted file on your PC.
  2. Download latest version of Odin3 v3.07. Once the download is done, save the extracted contents on your pc.
  3. Now, power off your smartphone completely and boot it into Download Mode by following the instructions give here.
  4. Now open Odin exe on your PC. Also, connect your device to your pc via USB cable.
  5. Once Odin recognizes your phone, you’ll see the ‘Added!!’ alert confirmation. Else, if the device isn’t recognized, then you will be forced to re-install the Tab 2 USB Drivers.
  6. Then go to Odin window and click the PDA button. You then load the file downloaded in your pc in step 2 into Odin.
  7. Leave the default settings as it is and make sure that Re-Partition is not enabled.
  8. Now press the START button for the updating process to begin. Just wait for the update to be completed and you receive confirmation when Odin shows the ‘PASS’ message.
  9. The phone then restarts and you can now unplug it from your pc. Just wait for the phone to boot into normal mode before doing anything.
  10. And there you go. You have successfully updated your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 – 3G variant of the tablet to official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean XXDMG6 firmware.
