Hence, if you are looking to customize and optimize the look and feel with performance of your HTC One, then flashing the highly appreciated Renovate firmware should be your motto.

The Custom ROM comes with extra features, apps and capabilities and without any bugs and issues. The Renovate firmware is based on Sense 5.0 UI and hence will be installed on top of Android 4.2.2 JB software. But before we can process with the installation of the Custom ROM, there are few pre-requisites that need to be followed for smooth installation.

  •  You need to root your HTC One in order to install a custom ROM. This would mean that your warranty will get void. But however you can always get back your warranty if you install the factory version of Android that came with the device.
  • We shall be using CWM for custom recovery. So make sure you install CWM as we will be using this to flash the Renovate Custom ROM.
  • Backup all the data as you will be asked to wipe all of your personal saves, data and accounts will be erased. Also make sure you make a Nandroid backup for saving/restoring the current installation .
  • Also make sure you have enough battery charge for the process to complete without any interruptions. Maintain about 60-70% of your battery.
  • Enable the USB debugging option on your device by going to “Settings -> More -> Development Options -> USB debugging”.
  • Keep in mind that this guide is for advanced Android users for particularly HTC One and we should not be blamed for any loss of data or in case you brick your device while trying to update it.
