With smart phones in general getting bigger, smarter, and much faster, one would think that the most recent line of devices would need help with something as trivial as gaming. However, even as smartphones are begin released with quad-core processors and more powerful GPUs, games for those devices are becoming bigger and require more resources as well. Thus, sometimes even the most beastly of smart phones gets a little lag here and there when playing the biggest, most awesome games they can.
HTC One X R00ted Application that boosts Gaming Quality
For HTC One X users, this is something that is actually fixable. A new application called RENOVATE Gaming Boost has been released for the HTC One X, which optimizes the device’s kernel to play games better. In other words, the application makes on-the-fly tweaks to the HTC One X when the app is launched and enabled which help it play games with less lag. Of course, the changes are instantly reversible by disabling them within the application. It is also quite easy to use. All users need to do is open the application, hit the “Enable” button, go play some games, and click the “Disable” button when they’re finished.
In case you haven’t guessed yet, this application requires users to root their devices. If you’re not rooted and want to, here is a good root method for the HTC One X . The reason the application needs root is because it is making changes to the Android system files, which can only be done with root access.
The application does have a couple of quirks. As one may guess, gaming with these tweaks enabled is likely going to drain your battery very quickly. This is especially true with games like Shadowgun, which have the ability to use more system resources—such as more processor cores—than regular games. Some reports have shown that the battery can die in under an hour depending on the game.
If this sounds like something that’s up your alley, check out the source link for the download link. It’s just an ordinary Android application, so to install it, simply download the APK file, put it on your phone and use a file manager to find it and install it.
