It can be wildly underestimated how exciting Nightlies can be. For rooted users who don’t know, Nightlies are ROMs that are updated and released everyday—or at least every couple of days—that shows a developer is actively working to make it better. This can be especially exciting when the Nightlies are of a brand new version of Android on a device that previously didn’t have any Jelly Bean. In this case, we’re talking about the process to install ASUS Transformer Prime Jelly Bean.
Asus Transformer Prime Jelly Bean Update installation guide
The quad core Asus Transformer Prime has gotten its first taste of Jelly Bean in style, with Nightlies being released everyday that allow users to try something new just about everyday. In terms of development, Team EOS is heading up the project. For those who don’t know, Team EOS is one of the better development teams on XDA-Developers. While it is expected that the Transformer Prime will get official Jelly Bean eventually, this is very unofficial so users will need to be rooted in order to flash these ROMs.
One of the biggest problems with Nightlies builds is that it’s hard to nail down a list of what is working and what is not. As builds are released daily to test fixes and add/subtract features, every day brings a new mixed bag into the equation. Team EOS has set up a website for users to post what’s wrong with any given build, though, so if you do happen to flash this and find something wrong they would most certainly like to hear about it. Despite that, users are reported that the Nightlies work for the most part with the occasional issue or quirk here and there. As time goes, the builds will get more stable, so expect these builds to only get better over time.
