Nexus 7 Tablet Receives Compatibility From 10 of Gameloft’s Top Sellers

July 24, 20120 Comments

The new Nexus 7 tablet has been released to rave reviews. The sturdy 7″, quad-core beast is Google’s first truly pure Nexus experience in tablet form. At a price point of $199 for the 8GB version and the vastly more popular 16GB version for $249, the tablet is likely to be the most popular Android tablet of all time. That said, application and game developers have been working nonstop to get their work compatible for the tablet that everyone—including admitted Apple fan boys—wants to get their hands on. This has spurned one of the biggest tablet-available app and game developers of all time.

Nexus 7 tablet Receives compatibility for top 10 Gameloft games

Joining in the fun is well known Android game publisher Gameloft, who has begun making their catalog available to Nexus 7 tablet owners by optimizing 10 of their top games to be compatible with Google’s most recent behemoth success. Says Baudouin Corman, the Vice President of Publishing for the Americas:

As Gameloft seeks to be one of the first publishers to optimize its titles for each new platform, it is with great enthusiasm that we now bring a roster of our biggest hits for the new Nexus 7

And on that note, the titles are:

  • Asphalt 7: Heat
  • Dungeon Hunter III
  • Fantasy Town
  • Fashion Icon
  • Men in Black 3
  • Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation
  • N.O.V.A. 3 : Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance
  • Oregon Trail: American Settler
  • Shark Dash
  • The Amazing Spider-Man

This is an excellent show of faith in the Nexus 7 tablet from one of Android’s biggest publishers. For a company that’s been among the heads of gaming innovation since 2000 and has a staff of 5000 developers with releases in over 100 countries, there aren’t many other publishers or developers to side with the Nexus 7 tablet that gives credence to its success more than Gameloft. Thankfully, Gameloft fans aren’t going to have to wait very long to see the press release become a reality as the games are actually already done and are available in the Google Play Store right now. It likely won’t be long for other games in the Gameloft catalog to follow suit as the Nexus 7 tablet continues its complete and utter success.
