Torrents have a bad rap because they’re often associated with piracy, but that doesn’t mean they are all bad. Torrents can be a great way for an independent developer to get their software out to people to try or for small name bands who want to promote their work. Even though there are a lot of illegal torrents out there, that doesn’t mean that those that use torrents for their intended purposes shouldn’t have a world class application to download their torrents with.

Enter uTorrent. uTorrent is already a world famous torrent downloading client that can be used on computers. It’s claim to fame is being small without compromising features and having a simple, use friendly layout that doesn’t require a tech savvy user to decipher. Now, the torrent download has made its way to Android and plans to be among the most popular torrent applications on the Android platform as well.

Just like the computer version, the Android application is simple to use and to navigate. Users can easily access downloading torrents, settings, featured torrents, search and torrent adding all from the single application screen. uTorrent, just as its always done, will automatically handle magnet links from torrent sites as well as direct .torrent downloads so you likely won’t have to worry about app associations.

Once a download is started clicking on it will bring it to the foreground where users can check things like seeders, leechers, and other statistics. Just like the computer version we’ve all come to know and love, the Android version looks to use the same simple, clean, small interface to make torrent downloading easier than ever on Android. The only issue currently is that uTorrent is in beta sot here may be some bugs yet to be ironed out. So, if you use this application, don’t be surprised if a couple of things go wrong as it’s only a matter of time before it’s fixed. To download it, check the source link.
